Sassy Park is a Sydney based artist interested in the history of art, linguistics and ideas. Known for her figurative and vessel works in clay, she explores themes of vulnerability and fragility, through a lens of historical ceramics, humour, and social commentary. Her works drive the mild manner of Staffordshire figures, which captured for the Victorian mantlepiece a placid inhabitance of the social roles of the time, into a poise, perhaps better suited to our own age, somewhere between bewilderment and resolve.

Park studied painting at Sydney College of the Art later undertaking a masters in ceramics at National Art School in 2018. She is a finalist in the 2025 Archibald Prize and was the recipient of the 2024 Keramikkünstlerhaus scholarship in Neumünster, Germany and the 2022 Onslow Storrier studio residency at Cité Internationale des Arts, Paris, France. Park’s work is represented in national public collections including the Powerhouse Museum, Bathurst Regional Gallery, Manly Art Gallery and Museum and the Art Gallery of Ballarat.
