Cath Fogarty
Cath Fogarty is an Australian artist whose diverse career is rooted in her long-standing commitment to ceramic art. Her experience includes working in various arts organisations, teaching, and maintaining a vibrant studio practice across diverse cultural settings and communities. Fogarty's art is grounded in her exploration of ceramic vessels. Her work melds natural elements with elegant, refined finishes, reflecting her profound connection to both the environment and artistic tradition.
In 2013, Fogarty established Chinaclay, a gallery and store in Sydney's Eastern Suburbs, dedicated to showcasing handmade ceramics, including her own. She sold Chinaclay in 2016 and relocated to the mid-north coast of NSW, where she now serves as the Cultural Development, Gallery, and History Services Coordinator with Coffs Harbour City Council. Through her work Fogarty continues to enrich the cultural landscape, merging her artistic practice with her commitment to community engagement and development.
