Toni Warburton
Toni Warburton is an Australian multi-disciplinary artist, educator, writer and curator who predominantly works with ceramics. Her art explores themes of place and social relations, focusing on human interaction with natural ecosystems. For Small Pleasures, Warburton's approach involved experimenting with form, glaze melt, and colour. The intimate scale of the pieces enabled a nuanced exploration of these elements, revealing a deep engagement with the subtle complexities of her craft.
Warburton has masterfully explored ceramics since the 1970s and graduated with a Master of Visual Art from Sydney College of the Arts in 2000. Her innovative contributions to the medium have been celebrated in major collections such as the Art Gallery of NSW and the Powerhouse Museum. Recent highlights of her esteemed career include Jardiniere at Drill Hall Gallery ANU and Terra Nova at Sturt Gallery Mittagong.
