  • Under the Sky showcases the stunning works of Sydney-based, multidisciplinary artist Niharika Hukku. Her project is foregrounded by an ever so simple, yet boundless impulse; the drive to express one's fleeting experience with beauty.

     

    For Hukku, the motifs of her encounters belong to the living world. Her far reaching explorations of landscapes, flora and fauna, from the striking swarm of koi to the immaculately brushed cockatoo reflect the distinctly cosmopolitan streak of her career. Born and raised in India, Hukku practiced ceramics and sculpture across Indonesia, Singapore and Australia, eventually settling in Sydney. Her parallel career in commercial illustration undoubtedly informs the intricate brushwork and stunningly vivid colours that distinguish her works.

     

    Hukku describes her works as an "ode", a gesture of love for the enduring grandeur of life that we can all can attest to.
