The Sydney Teapot Show has returned to Newtown. Eccentric, extraordinary, inventive and amusing teapots feature in the competition and exhibition.
All teapots are hand made ceramics by potters from around Australia. This year categories include Science Fiction teapot, Shakespeare inspired teapot and an Australian Archaeology teapot. Visitors to the gallery love to cast votes for their favourite – always a difficult choice! This is the 31st Sydney Teapot Show and is part of Sydney Craft Week, an initiative of the Australian Design Centre.Walkers Ceramics - sponsor of the Supreme Teapot: Best in Show
Keane Ceramics and Gleebooks each sponsor a category whose theme changes yearly.
Topotea Tea Rooms sponsor Best Pourer - the most functional teapot - beautiful to behold and a delight to use.
Gallery Lowe and Lee sponsor The People's Choice: votes are collected during the show and the winner announced on Instagram and our website on the final day.
